Everyone has bad hair days. Actually, today could be really good, bad hair day for me. It’s pouring down. But what if your bad hair day was every day to a certain extent. What if you genuinely don’t like your hair or are uncomfortable with certain characteristics of your hair. Or plain don’t know what kind of hairstyle to go for.

I have heard so many different reasons why people don’t like their hair,

Curly Haired beauty – “I wish I had straight, easy to manage hair.”                           

Straight haired bombshell – “I wish my hair was curly, I think curly girls are lucky ( They can do so much more with their hair)”                                                                               

Girl With lovely Waist length medium thick hair – “Yes my hair is long but I wish it had more volume”

I only wish they could see themselves through my eyes. All beautiful gorgeous beings. This has made me understand the importance of our hair. Good hair means something different to each and every one of us. It’s no surprise that hair is so important.

Hair is one of the firsts things that people could notice when they meet you. It’s one of the first things you see when you wake up. Hair frames the face, It’s closer to the bodies power-house, The Brain. In selfies, it’s the frame to that gorgeous picture, your face. On first meeting someone, it’s one of the three things that people will recall about you.

Your hair affects your self-esteem. Real beauty starts from within. It most certainly does not end there. I believe it flows out through your smile, how you style your hair, How you groom yourself. We all would like to be the most attractive versions of ourselves. When we don’t get it right with our hair, we just feel off.

These are the 6 reasons I have identified which people might struggle with when it comes to being happy with their hair. Let us see if we can address and hopefully help people love their hair more, love themselves more.

  1. You have no clue about hair. Yours or anyone else.
  2. You are uncomfortable with your hair or hair texture.
  3. You don’t know how to manage your hair.
  4. Sometimes, people have underlying issues that manifest through how they look at their hair and perceive it to be.
  5. Unrealistic expectations of what can be achieved for their hair type and face shape.
  6. You are happy with your hair. But you can’t seem to get a style or cut that you are comfortable with.

I will be talking about these in the following blog posts. Whatever the reason for you not liking your hair, this is what you have been given. Remember, your hair is part of you. not entirely who you are. So whatever you have been given, texture, length, colour love yourself first, feel positive. The rest will follow. With the help of a good hair stylist, armed with quality information and a whole lot of patience, this can be achieved.
